Meet the Owner of Building Safer Tomorrows
McKenzy, 28, hales from a small city outside Milwaukee, WI. and has lived there all her life. She always had a passion for children and has always been intrigued with crime prevention and the news and radio media. She began her career as a media-related safety and awareness advocate in early 2002 when she began working for a company called Project Awareness. This position gave McKenzy the ability to combine her passions with her media and creative interests.
Building Safer Tomorrows was founded in late 2003 by McKenzy, a single mother at the time, who vowed to help improve her community through media awareness and education, while being available for her own child on a full time basis. She started off by offering business owners the ability to advertise on the radio while sponsoring different causes, as well as designing logos, slogans, writing skits, ads and other advertising and sponsorship productions regarding safety and awareness. She reached out to her local and online community offering help any way she physically could. To this day, B.S.T. has never turned anyone down. Regardless of their needs, B.S.T. has done everything and anything, within their power and guidelines, to give as much assistance as possible. She is also a volunteer crisis counselor in training for sexual assault victims in her hometown.
Currently McKenzy is married with two beautiful children, a boy and girl and still residing in Wisconsin. Late 2007, she completed a hugely successful toy drive online called Santa 4 Survivors where she single handedly raised money and gifts for 26 small survivors of child abuse, accidents and/or childhood illnesses. With a wall full of cards, letters of thanks and photographs from families she has helped, it's no surprise why McKenzy and Building Safer Tomorrows has such a large following. Her passion for people as well as their safety and well-being is unparallel.
